Edwards will start, Stallworth, McGinest out.

BALTIMORE — Browns wide receiver Braylon Edwards will start, but linebacker Willie McGinest, wide reciever Donte’ Stallworth and guard Ryan Tucker will not play.

Wide reciever Syndric Steptoe will start at receiver, while rookie Alex Hall will start at linebacker in place of McGinest.

Seth McKinney will start at guard for Eric Steinbach, who was ruled out due to a shoulderinjury yesterday.Kris Griffin, Sean Jones and Martin Rucker are also out.

Chiefs inquire about Quinn’s availability

Jay Glazer of FOX reports that the Kansas City Chiefs called the Browns this week to inquire about the availability of quarterback Brady Quinn.

The Browns declined to discuss the possibility.

The move suggests to us that the Chiefs could be using their very high 2009 first-round pick on whoever emerges as the top quarterback in the draft.

Steinbach OUT! Did not make trip to Baltimore.

Browns guard Eric Steinbach, who previously was listed as questionable for Sunday’s game at Baltimore with a shoulder injury, did not make the trip with the team, and consequently will not play.

Seth McKinney likely will take Steinbach’s place in the starting lineup.

Receivers Braylon Edwards (shoulder) and Donte’ Stallworth (quad) also are questionable for the Week Three AFC North matchup, but they apparently made the trip with the team to Maryland.

Edwards given ticket for speeding after all

BEREA — A star-struck police officer who made a traffic stop on Cleveland Browns wide receiver Braylon Edwards let the player go without a speeding ticket, a suburban police chief said Friday, Sept. 12.

Edwards was stopped on Aug. 29 in Avon after police said he was driving 120 mph in his Bentley along Interstate 90.

The officer apparently was star-struck over meeting the Pro Bowl player, said Avon Police Chief Paul Romond.

Edwards has since been served with the ticket, and the officer, whose name wasn’t released, has been counseled about handling traffic stops, said Candace Johnson, Romond’s administrative assistant.

The Browns’ receiver was cooperative and was let off when the officer determined the player wasn’t intoxicated and saw a sick passenger in the front seat, Johnson said.

Browns lead division (in franchise value)

(Cleveland) - The Cleveland Browns are the most valuable franchise in the AFC North, and the only division team in the Forbes Magazine top ten ranking.

According to Forbes, the Browns are #9 and worth $969 million.

The Ravens ranked #11, the Steelers #16 and the Bengals #20.

Forbes had this to say about the Browns franchise, “The Browns picked up two high-profile first round picks this year in quarterback Brady Quinn and lineman Joe Thomas in hopes of turning around this once proud franchise. Since their return to Cleveland for the 1999 season (the original Browns moved to Baltimore after the 1995 season), the Browns have racked up the worst record in football, with only 40 wins against 88 losses. Financially, the Browns are still one of the league’s crown jewels, thanks to a rabid fan base and sweetheart lease at Cleveland Browns Stadium.”

According to Forbes, the Dallas Cowboys are the most valuable team in the NFL and are the single most valuable sports franchise on the planet, worth $1.5 billion.

This biggest bargain to be had is the Minnesota Vikings…valued at $782 million.
