now to one of my favorite members. Diehard. He is one of the nicest guys you could ever know!
Question 1 Name a few players that you consider as your all time Browns favorites. Well being old I go back to guys like Bill Nelson and Leroy Kelley. The late 80's early 90's team was a very likable TEAM and it's really hard for me to single out players from that era becuse I liked so many of them. Since the teams return there haven't been many players that I've really been excited about. KW2 would probably have to be my favorite player right now just for the way he's fought through so much and still goes out and produces the way he does. Question 2 What do you do for a living? Have a dream job that yuo still chase? I work in manufacturing. It sucks but they pay me every week. Looking back I regret not going in the service after I graduated like I had planned to do.
I gave a lot of thought about going to school to become a chef, much like my favorite poster here at browns 24/7, but could never get things worked out where I could pull it off.
If I had a dream job it would be to get paid for riding motorcycles. I envy guys that actually make a living test riding new motorcycles and traveling all over the country to do it. Question 3 Tell us a little about your life outside the internet, What is Diehard really like? Well I was married for many years and helped to raise some great kids, but things didn't work out and I've been back to the single life for over a year now so I've had a lot of changes in my life.
Like I said earlier, I love riding motorcycles so that's what I do whenever I get a chance. During the summer I help to organize a couple different motorcycle runs/parties to to benefit toys for tots, veterans, or local people in need of some assistance. On weekends we don't have a run going on there is anywhere from 10-30 of us that still get together to get out and put a couple hundred miles on.
The older I get the more I hate winters, so winters are pretty much spent hibernating and watching a lot of sports, or getting together with some friends on weekends and going out and drinking way more then we should. Question 4 Favorite comedian?
Right now I'd probably have to go with Ron (tater salad) White. The guy cracks me up!! I used to be a big Sam Kennison fan also. Went to see him live a couple times and thought I was going to die laughing. Question 5 Whats your favorite Movie? I've never been able to answer that one. I like all different kinds of movies. Some of my favorites would include The Godfather 1&2, Platoon, Shawshank redemption, Animal House, Shrek, Goodfellas, and this time of year A Christmas Story. Question 6 How about favorite food?
Another tough question since I just love food period. In general I'd go with seafood. I can eat something like shrimp scampi until I'm sweating butter. I also really like a good BBQ and cajun food. Question 7 You have been a long time member of Browns 24/7, tell us in your own words, what makes it so great? Finally an easy question to answer!! The people that post on 24/7 are what makes it great!! Another great thing about it is Tune is always willing to listen to new ideas and try new things to make the board better. Some of them work and some of them don't but he's always willing to let people be involved and make suggestions for improving the board. Question 8 Do the Browns make the palyoffs this year? Why or why not? Don't want to jinx them but I think we'll get a wildcard and make the playoffs this year. We look to have the easiest schedule out of the teams currently in the wildcard race and the team seems to have a good attitude and seem to be learning how to win games. Teams have to learn how to come up with that one big defensive stand or offensive drive when the game is on the line, even if they haven't played that well the rest of the game, and I think they are learning to do that.
Question 9 If you hit the lottery for $80.00 Million, what would you do with it? (and how much do I get?) I'd take care of my family and a few friends that have been with me through thick and thin. I'd buy a new motorcycle (actually probably a few of them) and do some traveling to decide where I want my winter home. Donate some to a couple charities. Party!!! Question 10 Its your job to fix the Browns in the offseason...what do you do?
I'd pretty much stay the course Savage is already on. With the salary cap and all and the limited number of players available you can only do so much at once. It's no secret that this off season should be pretty much devoted to working on the defense. I'd try to bring in a real NT and an athletic MLB. Maybe another CB since Bodden just doesn't seem to be playing the way he did a couple years ago. We'll also have to address the RB spot again, hopefully with someone who we'll be able to count on long term.
