Question 1 How long have you been a Browns Fan?
My love for the Browns began in '85 when I moved to the Boston area. Those fans are so full of themselves, and so territorial. Their Pats were doing well then, and amid all their obnoxiousness, I latched onto the Browns, just so I could "represent" my own homeland. When I returned to the Toledo area in '88, my brother, a Baldwin-Wallace alum, who lives in Elyria, invited me to join an ownership group of a few season tickets in the Dawg Pound. I have gone from owning two tickets (1/4 share of one seat) in '88, to owning 2 whole seats today, as part of a 3-guy, 8-seat ownership group, with two of my brothers-in-law. Question 2 What is your occupation?
I am Senior Auditor for a company called National Amusements Inc; we own and operate movie theatres in the US, UK, Russia, Brazil, Argentina, and Chile. I have been with them since I was 17 and in high school, starting as an usher. Mostly, I make sure all the money's in the bank, all the credit card reimbursements are made, and that our managers always work to minimize our losses and our liabilities. Question 3 Tell us in your own words, what Browns 24/7 means to you.
In its early days, remember how "taboo" it was to "meet" people on-line? In too many cases, it was wrecking marriages and keeping Jerry Springer busy. Well, absent the sexual aspect, many of us grew to understand the "cyber-community" aspect, and that's what 24/7 means to me, as we all share our love of the Browns. I have great respect and appreciation for many of the regulars around here, whom I truly consider as friends, even though I haven't actually met many of them. Those I have met (Diehard, Tune, Cheffie, EP) are really great guys, whom I am very proud to say I have met and know. I hope these types of relationships continue to grow. Question 4 If you won a million dollars, what would you do with it? ?
Pay off my mortgage; insure my children's education; place my mom into a comfortable semi-assisted living arrangement; treat my awesome wife to whatever she wanted, because I'm sure it would be still less than she deserves.
Question 5 Why the Browns?
The Browns represent who and what we are in the midwest. The lunch-bucket approach. The passion and loyalty. The endless optimism that our hard work will ultimately bring success. It's not fair to say, I know, but I really resent bandwagon Browns fans - go root for someone else, as far as I'm concerned - that's NOT what we're about. Question 6 Who is/Was your role model?
My dad died when I was a baby. My mom was left to raise seven kids on her own; I was the youngest at 11-months-old. Still with us today, at the age of 83, the woman is a hero. When she was 75, she suffered a pulmonary attack from a mishandled CT-mylogram. She was in a coma for 3-1/2 weeks. We were sure we were losing her. She came out, and learned how to walk all over again, at 75!!! She had the unenviable burden of burying a child...before I was ever born, we lost a brother at he age of 9 (around 1960). She has lost a son, a husband, raised 7 kids on a nurse's wages, has had two open heart surgeries, and survived coma and physical rehab. She's more than a role model...she's a hero, and a true legend in all our lives. Question 7 Do you have any tatoos? what are they and where?
No. I am considering a Browns tattoo.
Question 8 Children? Ages?
I have two awesome kids...don't get me started. My son Christian is a few weeks shy of 16. Very bright, very funny...excellent sudent, and a pretty darned good hockey player. He's a goalie for St John's Jesuit Titans, last year's Ohio State Champions. This year he made varsity as just a sophomore. He's also a skilled baseball player (C/1b/3b). He's all the jock I never was. (I can beat him at golf, though...for now, anyway...lol). My daughter Alexandra (Alex) is just shy of thirteen; she's in 7th grade. An awesome student, straight A's, and student government. She plays basketball, volleyball, and softball, as well as dances (jazz and ballet) and occasionally acts in local amateur stage productions. She's a doll, and I couldn't be prouder of both of them! Question 9 What do you do for fun?
I love golf, but I travel extensively for work, so I just don't play nearly as much as I'd love to. I value friendships, so just being with friends is a highlite in my life. Attending all my kids' games and activities also occupies alot of my free time, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Question 10 Favorite place to dine out?[/QUOTE]
A raw bar in N'Awlins, baby! Since I can't be there much, I settle for seafood or italian. Toledo has two restaurants that do both really well...Mancy's Italian, or Ciao's. I love Montgomery Inn in Cincinnati. I love the Jack Daniels menu at TGI Friday's. One look at me and you would know instantly that I'm noy a particularly picky eater.
Thanks everyone for being part of this great site!
yours truly!
Those awesome babies I was braggin on...
