BROWNS SIGN OL LENNIE FRIEDMAN TO A ONE-YEAR CONTRACT
The Cleveland Browns have signed OL Lennie Friedman to a one-year contract, the club announced today.
Friedman, 6-3 and 295 lbs., appeared in all 16 games last season for the Browns on special teams and also provided depth at both the guard and center positions. Friedman was part of the kickoff wedge blocking unit that helped KR Joshua Cribbs lead the NFL with a 30.7 kickoff return average.
Friedman, 31, is entering his third year with the Browns and tenth in the NFL. Friedman has played in 97 career games, including 34 starts, during his career with Denver, Washington, Chicago and Cleveland. Friedman was originally a second round draft choice by the Denver Broncos in the 1999 NFL Draft out of Duke.
