The home field wasn't much of an advantage on Wild Card Weekend as the Steelers, Panthers and Redskins all won on the road. Only the Patriots were able to defend their home turf.

The Panthers storm into the NFC divisional playoff round after routing the Giants 23-0. New York became the first home playoff team to be shut out since 1980. Carolina piled up 223 yards rushing, led by DeShaun Foster's 151, while the defense forced five turnovers and limited Giants Pro Bowl runner Tiki Barber to just 41 yards on 13 carries. Cincinnati jumped out to a 17-7 lead in the second quarter but the Steelers rallied with 24 unanswered points to defeat the rival Bengals and earn a divisional round trip to Indianapolis, where they lost 26-7 back in late November. With their sixth straight victory of the year, the Washington Redskins stunned the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 17-10 at Raymond James Stadium to earn a date with the Seattle Seahawks next Saturday in the divisional playoff round. Defense sparked the victory, with LaVar Arrington's first-quarter interception setting up the Redskins' first touchdown -- Clinton Portis' 6-yard run -- and safety Sean Taylor scored the second on a 51-yard fumble return. | Patriots 28, Jaguars 3

The Jaguars hung tough in the first half Saturday but the Patriots took control after the intermission en route to a 28-3 triumph. It was a record-setting night for the Patriots, who won their NFL-record 10th straight postseason game, all quarterbacked by Tom Brady. Willie McGinest set an NFL playoff mark of his own with 4½ sacks on the evening. The Pats must wait for the Steelers-Bengals result to find out who they face in the divisional playoff round. |
