(Nov. 23, 2005) -- Running back Larry Johnson of the Kansas City Chiefs, linebacker Andra Davis of the Cleveland Browns and kicker Matt Stover of the Baltimore Ravens are the AFC Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week for games played the 11th week of the 2005 season (Nov. 20-21).
Registering a team-high 14 tackles -- including two for losses -- Cleveland linebacker Andra Davis played a key role in the Browns' 22-0 shutout victory at home against Miami as Cleveland (4-6) equaled its 2004 win total in its 10th game. The 6-1, 250-pounder from Live Oak, Fla., (85 miles west of Jacksonville) also delivered a pair of pass break-ups and one quarterback pressure which led to an over-the-shoulder interception by fellow linebacker Matt Stewart. The turnover resulted in a 23-yard Phil Dawson field goal for a 9-0 first-quarter Browns advantage. Led by Davis' play, Cleveland limited Miami to 194 total net yards, including only 55 net passing yards. The shutout victory was the Browns' first since Nov. 21, 2001 (18-0 vs. Cincinnati) and was the 27th blanking of an opponent in franchise history, including playoffs. In his fourth season from Florida, this is the first Player of the Week distinction for Davis.
