For Immediate Release March 1, 2006 BROWNS DT ETHAN KELLEY SIGNS ONE-YEAR CONTRACT EXTENSION The Cleveland Browns have signed DT Ethan Kelley to a one-year contract extension through the 2006 season, the club announced today. Kelley appeared in 11 games, including two starts, and totaled a career-high 26 tackles, including 16 solo, with one sack for six yards last season. Kelley, 6-2 and 310 lbs., joined the Browns as a free agent on Aug. 2, 2005 during training after spending the previous two seasons with the New England Patriots. Kelley began the 2005 season behind starting NT Jason Fisk and earned additional playing time as the season progressed. Kelley had a career-high five tackles at Pittsburgh on Nov. 13, and earned his first career start the following week vs. Miami on Nov. 20. Kelly also started at Minnesota on Nov. 27, and added four tackles and his first career-sack before suffering a knee injury vs. the Vikings. Kelley was placed on Injured-Reserve on Dec. 7, and missed the final five regular season games due to the knee injury.
